The library is open daily from 7:30 to 3:30.
All students are on a flexible library schedule with the expectation that they will visit the library every two weeks. During these visits students will receive instruction on information literacy and instruction. They will also use resources, check-out books, enjoy read alouds and library programs. Open Check Out daily from 8:10-8:30 and 2-2:50.
Circulation:
Students in Pre-K may check out one book at a time.
Students in Kindergarten and Grade 1 may check out two books at a time. Books are checked out for a period of two weeks.
Students in Grades 2 and 3 may check out four books at a time. Books are checked out for a period of two weeks.
Students in Grades 4 and 5 may check out five books at a time. Books are checked out for a period of two weeks.
Students who have lost or overdue library books may not check out additional materials until their library account is clear.
Additional books may be checked out for classroom projects.
Students are encouraged to make selections based on their interests; however, one selection should be a “Good Fit Book,” which is a book they can read on their own.
Parents and guardians are especially encouraged to read with younger children, as independent reading may not be possible yet. The remaining two books may be books an adult will read with them or to simply look at the pictures. It is important for students to develop the skills to explore topics of interest.
Books may be renewed two times.
Parents may also check out additional books for reading at home.
